Hawaii Trek 2015

DATE: September 25 – October 5, 2015
LOCATION: Oahu & Big Island, Hawaii
DESCRIPTION:  Adventurous travelers joined Roddenberry Adventures for a 10 day trip to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. Exclusive trip activities included a rare coral spawning event and research opportunity on Coconut Island in Kaneohe Bay with coral researcher Dr. Mary Hagedorn and her team and a VIP tour of the Smithsonian Submillimeter Array on Mauna Kea. Participants also enjoyed a sunset sailing excursion around Oahu’s North Shore with Intova founder Joe Ganahl, a historical tour of the USS Arizona Memorial, and a traditional Luau. Divers explored some of Hawaii’s wrecks and reefs, experienced Kona’s famous Manta Ray night dive and an embarked on an exhilarating Pelagic Magic Black Water Dive adventure (our Redshirt dive!).

We would like to thank Dr. Mary Hagedorn and her team with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute/Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology and Sharon Allen, Ryan Howie, Ram Rao, Les Shirkey with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory team for such an amazing once in a lifetime experience. In addition, a big thank you to Joe Ganahl, Patrick’s Diving Adventure, Aaron’s Dive Shop, Jack’s Diving Locker and the staff at Paradise Bay Resort for making our Hawaii Trek such a memorable trip!
