Power Scuba presents a special San Diego Bay Cleanup in partnership with the Port of San Diego & The Control Group. Divers and surface support/collectors needed to help cleanup the San Diego Bay. You do not have to be a Power Scuba member to participate in this event.

Join Power Scuba for this rare opportunity to dive in San Diego Bay and to help give back to the environment. There’s no telling what you may find! There will be fun prizes for most unique items found Get there early to park, sign in, get your pier assignment and have some muffins and juice.

Please note: If you want to dive in the harbor, you need to RSVP with  Power Scuba ASAP as your information must be submitted to the Harbor Police in advance of the dive cleanup. Click here to sign up now!

Event Schedule:

  • 7:15 am – 8:15 am: Registration
  • 8:00 am – 8:45 am: Welcome/Speaker/Safety Briefing
  • 8:45 am– 9:30 am: Disperse to appropriate piers / DM mini-brief
  • 9:30 am– 11:00 am: Pick up trash! (one tank only)
  • 11:00 am: All divers out of the water by this time
  • 11:00 am– 12:00 pm: Stow your gear, return to registration area
  • 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm: Weighing Trash, Totals, Prizes, Wrap-up, and Group PhotoPS Cleanup 600_411732242

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

EVENT REGISTRATION: Divers must RSVP with Power Scuba ASAP to dive in the harbor as your information must be submitted to the Harbor Police in advance of the dive cleanup.

MEETING LOCATION: The sidewalk just south of the Midway Museum, by the Fish Market parking lot. We’ll be highly visible on the sidewalk just south of the Midway Museum, next to the Fish Market restaurant parking lot.

GEAR: Divers must bring all of their own gear to participate (including tanks and weights). Mesh collection bags will be available to some while supply lasts, but bring your own bag to put trash in if you can. Free air-fills and 1/2-price gear rentals at are available for this event!

TRANSPORT: Trucks to transport gear and people to their assigned dive sites. These trucks will pick up and haul the trash the divers bring up as well.

AREA OF COVERAGE: A few blocks north of the Maritime Museum pier (northern point) to Tuna Harbor (southern point) by the Fish Market. MANY potential dive sites encompassed here.
